Family Food is a collection of recipes that I have seen and eaten and have made. I have lots of recipe books but find I lose lots of ideas as I an unable to recollect where I saw them. Adding them to a blog and putting them online allows all my family to see and contribute their own ideas and recipes.
It begins to make food very personal and relevant as you know you've cooked and eaten it. Often recipes in books are just too fussy and have far too many steps.
I like the Jamie Oliver approach, a handful of this, a dash of that a cup of something else.. His pancake recipe is so easy, I can even remember it as I'm writing this.
