Design has always played a huge part in my life, but it’s only recently that I have found its expression in upcycling. Specifically, upcycling mid century modern furniture using Formica® laminate.

I love the combination of this classic mid century material with furniture from the same era, and use laser cutting technology to create 21st century statement pieces that will themselves stand the test of time.

I have lived in several different places across the world, notably in North America and Europe, and most recently for four years on the east coast of Canada. Although I miss Canada very much, my wife and I decided to return to East Devon to be near family and it is here that my upcycling journey began.

It is the beauty of the nearby coast and the countryside which surrounds our home which provides the inspiration for most of the designs for my pieces.

In a previous life, I founded a marketing and design agency in the south west of England. The agency enjoyed a reputation as the most creative in the region and I loved working with my team of talented and creative thinking people for clients across the UK in fields such as property development, food & drink and renewables.

I still earn a living as a graphic designer (check out my work at, and I also enjoy photography (you can see some of my work at
