Herbert E Gibbs Kitchen Larder Cupboard

Gorgeous mid-century modern upcycled kitchen larder cupboard/single wardrobe fully restored and reimagined with elegant custom swallows design in sky blue Formica

/// This mid century cupboard was originally by British Furniture company Herbert E Gibbs, British a furniture manufacturing company founded in the 1920s by Herbert E. Gibbs who trained as a cabinet maker at a technical college and also taught carpentry at a school. The firm was based at De Beauvoir Road, London and later First Avenue, Montague Road, London.

/// This piece has been fully restored by Mike Temple Furniture Design and refinished with multiple coats of Danish Oil to bring out the grain and give a pleasing warm honey tone to the veneer. It has also been transformed from its original use as a single wardrobe to a spacious kitchen larder cupboard with the addition of shelves. Custom designed Formica with swallows in flight was then applied to the dresser top and the drawer fronts, the cut outs revealing the wood beneath to create a unique and desirable piece of mid-century modern furniture.
