Mid Century modern teak sideboard designed by Peter Hayward for Scandinavian makers Vanson upcycled with custom Formica design

/// Stunning upcycled mid century modern teak sideboard originally designed by Peter Hayward for renowned Scandinavian furniture maker Vanson. This vintage sideboard has been restored and enhanced with a bespoke and striking design using Formica® laminate to create a one-of-a-kind centrepiece. Teal and Dusky Jade Formica has been laser-cut with a wildflower design then applied to the door and drawer fronts. The unit retains its original brass drawer pulls and door handles.

/// Designed by Peter Hayward in 1952 this original Vanson sideboard is constructed from teak, rosewood and walnut. Comprising a cupboards to either side of 3 drawers in the centre, this piece has wonderful symmetry, clean modern lines and is a Scandinavian design classic. The top drawer has the original green baise lining along with the original, extremely rare removable butler cutlery tray. The left hand cupboard has a fixed full depth shelf and the right hand cupboard has a fitted cocktail interior to house glasses and liquor bottles.

/// This piece of furniture has been lovingly restored and reimagined, however although every effort has been made to restore the item to its original condition, it may bear some of the scars of a life already lived. This item is finished with multiple coats of Danish Oil to bring out the grain, protect the wood and give a pleasing warm tone. Custom designed Formica® laminate has been laser cut before being applied to the drawer fronts revealing the wood beneath to create a unique item of mid-century modern vintage retro furniture.
